Q: What does the 13.5% monthly contribution for the Tier 1 of the SSNIT Pension mean?

A: Your employer is required to contribute 13.5% of your basic salary (that is excluding allowances and bonuses) to Tier 1 of the Pension Scheme. Out of this contribution, 11.5% is sent to SSNIT and 2% is sent to the National Health Insurance Authority.
